Tribal Fishery Update
Tribal Members may begin scheduling the net for the Educational Fishery on April 20th for the entire season. In order to meet the COVID-19 mandates and keep our Tribal Members, families and employees safe, the Tribal Council has made the decision to have Jake Kooly, Harvest Manager and his crew fish the net for Tribal Members who sign up for the May tides. 2020 U.S. Census: Everybody Counts
In March, all households across Alaska should receive an invitation to participate in the 2020 U.S. Census. The Census, conducted every 10 years, is more than a population count. One use of this information Is for the allocation of federal funding.
In the case of the Kenaitze Indian Tribe, the accuracy and completeness of the demographics gathered in the census process will be essential to ensure that the Tribe receives the appropriate share of the funding in our service area. Read More
Covid-19 Update: March 30
Dena’ina Wellness Center (DWC) was notified on Saturday, March 28th, by the Alaska State Public Health Laboratory of its first positive case of COVID-19. The person was tested at DWC earlier this week.

One of the best parts of Amanda Burg-Rice’s job as an Individual Skill Provider comes at the end of the school year.

Soldotna woman celebrates smoke-free anniversary
Kandy Dushkin has overcome many challenges in her life. She can add quitting a 40-year habit to the list.
Dushkin recently celebrated a year of being smoke-free with a gathering at the Dena’ina Wellness Center.
“I had been trying since 2004,” Dushkin said. “… I’ve tried two weeks, a day, I even made it four months back in 2017.”
