In Family Services, we work to ensure the health and well-being of vulnerable members of the community. We partner with families and agencies on a wide range of programs supporting both children and adults. Our Family Services team supports the tribe’s traditional value of family – honoring and sustaining health and happiness of family as a first responsibility. Family Services include:
Child Protection
We accept reports of harm and work in partnership with the Office of Children’s Services to ensure the safety and health of the youngest members of the community. Additionally, we offer case management and work in collaboration with Tribal Court on child custody, guardianship and adoption cases.
Adult Protection
In adult protection, we seek to protect Elders and adults with disabilities from abuse and neglect. We accept reports of harm and partner with Adult Protective Services.
Foster Care
Our foster care program seeks to place children in safe homes both permanently and in emergency situations. In emergency instances, children are placed in the home for 30 days or less. If you are interested in becoming a foster family but your home is not properly equipped, we can offer financial assistance to help you get it prepared. We encourage anyone interested in becoming a foster family to contact us to learn more.
Preservation
The preservation program seeks to support and strengthen families who have not yet faced a report of harm but are at risk. The program seeks to intervene before it is too late, offering parenting classes and other services.
