Tribal Member Benefits – Kenaitze Indian Tribe

Resources are available to Kenaitze Tribal Members to assist in meeting a wide range of needs.

Tribal Member Enrichment Funds

Tribal Member Enrichment Funds are available to promote the education, health, general welfare and best interests of Kenaitze Tribal Members. Adult Tribal Members may apply for up to $1,500 of Tribal Member Enrichment Funds over a rolling 12-month period. Tribal Member Youths may apply for up to $1,000 over a rolling 12-month period.

Free or Discounted Internet Service

Tribal Member households are eligible to receive SPITwSPOTS standard internet service free of charge, or a comparable discount on a higher-level service. The SPITwSPOTS service area includes much of the central and southern Kenai Peninsula, Seward, and Fairbanks. Contact Tribal Member Services for subscription details.

Snow plowing and Sanding for Tribal Elders and Disabled Tribal Members

Snow plowing and sanding services are available for Tribal Elders and disabled Tribal Members who exceed income limits for other snow plowing and sanding funding. Services are available to Tribal Elders and disabled Tribal Members who reside in the Tribe’s service area, which covers the western Kenai Peninsula between Point Possession and Kasilof, including Cooper Landing, Kenai, Nikiski, Soldotna and Sterling.

Urgent Minor Home Repairs and Maintenance for Tribal Elders and Disabled Tribal Members

Urgent minor home repairs or maintenance services are available to Kenaitze Tribal Elders and disabled Tribal Members. Repairs or maintenance services are not to exceed $750, or $1,000 if a subcontractor is required, in a 12-month rolling period.

Tribal Member Funeral Assistance and/or Memorial Policy

The Tribal Member Funeral Assistance and/or Memorial Policy with Corresponding Procedure provides guidelines and financial assistance in honoring a Kenaitze Tribal Member who has passed, to help defray the costs for funeral, memorial and/or burial expenses.
