Primary Care
At the Dena’ina Wellness Center, medical treatment is delivered by teams made up of physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, certified physician assistants, medical assistants and case managers. Each customer receives their own care team along with support from our Wellness Department, which offers many additional services. Our primary care services are accessible to all Alaska Native and American Indian people and include:
Outpatient Medical Services
- Psychiatric assessment and medication management
- Adult and pediatric care
- Lifestyle coaching/risk factors
- Disease prevention
- Disease management
- Screening for early detection of disease
- Immunization
- Acute illness/injury care (non-emergent)
- Chronic disease management including:
- Diabetes, hypertension and asthma
- Hyperlipidemia, COPD, chronic pain and foot care
- Telemedicine
- Minor procedures, including:
- Fracture care
- Wound care
- Skin excisions and biopsies
- Joint injections
- Nail removal
- Sutures
- Prenatal care
- Women’s health
