The Kenaitze Indian Tribe is developing a new fixed-route bus service and wants to know about transportation needs and destinations for central Kenai Peninsula communities.
Kahtnu Area Transit bus service will be available to the general public, and the Tribe is asking community members to complete an online survey to document these needs.
The survey is intended for residents of the greater Kenai, Soldotna, Sterling, Nikiski, and Kalifornsky communities, especially current or potential users of public transportation or people with transportation needs.
Paper surveys will be distributed around the Kenai, Nikiski, Soldotna and Sterling communities. Survey responses will be collected until Monday, Sept. 11. Survey results will be used to develop the Kahtnu Area Transit bus route and stop locations.
