Nominations are being accepted for the 2026 Kenaitze Tribal Member of the Year Awards. Nominate a Tribal Member who deserves recognition!
Tribal Members, excluding current Tribal Council Members, may be nominated in the following categories:
- Kenaitze Tribal Member Elder Recognition Award: Recognizes a Tribal Member age 55 or older who has shown dedication to Alaska Native culture, heritage and communities. The individual is recognized as a leader, an educator and/or preserver of Native culture whose accomplishments and/or contributions have benefited Tribal Members or other Native peoples.
- Kenaitze Tribal Member Legacy Award: Recognizes a Tribal Member who has shown dedication to Alaska Native culture, heritage and communities. This award is for recognition of all Tribal Members regardless of age and may include a Tribal Member who has passed on. The individual is recognized for his or her accomplishments and/or contributions that have benefited Tribal Members or Alaska Native peoples.
- Kenaitze Tribal Member Youth Recognition Award: Recognizes a Tribal Member Youth age 12 to 17 who has shown dedication to Alaska Native culture, heritage and/or communities. The individual is recognized for his or her superior academic achievements, demonstrated leadership qualities, dedication to Alaska Native culture and heritage, outstanding contributions to community and family and/or exceptional determination and stamina in overcoming significant life challenges.

Nominations must be received by Monday, August 17, 2026 for consideration.
