It is with a heavy heart and the family's permission we share the following:
Phyllis J. (Sing) Garrett
With heavy hearts and much love, our family shares the passing of our beloved mother, Phyllis J. (Sing) Garrett, age 83, on October 20, 2026, in Anchorage, Alaska. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family.
Phyllis will be remembered for her kindness, her enduring friendships, her faith, and, above all, her love and devotion to her children, granddaughters, and great-grandson.
She was proud of her Kenaitze and Tlingit heritage and was a shareholder of Doyon, Limited. She retired from the Noel Wien Library in Fairbanks after 30 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivory Garrett; her parents, Sarah Frances (Brown) Lindgren, Herman D. Lindgren, of Kenai, and Sam Sing of Sitka; her sister, Madrona Jane Lindgren; and her brothers, Ronald T. Dolchok, Sr., and James L. Lindgren. Many extended family members in Kenai and Sitka also preceded her in death.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Lanien, and her son, Ivory L.; her granddaughters, Jenna and Jorielle, both daughters of Lanien, and Jorielle’s husband, Mathieu; her great-grandson, Kingsley, son of Jenna; her sister, Katherine A. Juliussen, and her children and grandchildren.
Phyllis is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marcia Dolchok, and nephew Ron Dolchok, Jr.; and her niece, Kimberly Rocker, and her children.
Phyllis is also survived by her sisters, Renee, Kerri, and Valerie Robin, along with many beloved extended family members and dear friends in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and California.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal services. Family and loved ones will gather in Fairbanks in early summer 2027 to celebrate her life.
Condolences for the family may be directed to Lanien Livingston.
