Nate provides behavioral health case management services for un’ina, “those who come to us,” at Chuq’eya Qenq’a, Birch Tree House.
Nate has witnessed many people’s struggles, from his own childhood trauma to his time serving in the Marine Corps. With personal experience with first- and second-hand trauma, he is grateful for the opportunity to guide and support others who are going through their own trials and tribulations.
Nate earned a bachelor’s degree in religious studies through the American Military University. He is working toward a master’s degree in professional medical chaplaincy from Liberty University. Nate is a certified Chemical Dependency Counselor 1.
Nate finds it rewarding to witness an individual’s growth and see them overcome their struggles. He grew up participating in the Tribe’s youth cultural programs, and is fascinated with Dena’ina culture and history.
When he’s not serving un’ina, Nate enjoys studying religious beliefs, culture and history from around the world. He loves winter in Alaska and spending time outdoors, whether it’s walking in the woods, splitting firewood, or just working in the yard.
